Magical Memories
Magic Music Days at Walt Disney World January 2007
By Laney Albertson - Sophomore, Henry Sibley High School, MinnesotaWhen someone mentions Walt Disney World, I think of the rides, the characters, the parades, the shows, and the memories I had when I was eight years old. Seven years later, I'm back marching with the Henry Sibley Marching Band. Marching at Disney World is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I am glad that I got to experience it with my friends and my band. All of us had a great time. We certainly have never gotten that big of an audience back in Minnesota! It was also so cool to change backstage where the characters were. I was wondering if I was going to see Mickey Mouse!
After the SpectroMagic Parade, during the fireworks, I was thinking of Walt Disney himself. Looking around at all the rides and the spirit of kids, I thought, "Walt Disney did all this; he inspired kids all over the world. He gave people hope, imagination, and dreams." I think the point that Walt Disney wanted to announce all over the world was "dreams do come true," and I admire him greatly for that.
I wish that Walt Disney were still here to admire his creation that has spread throughout the world. Without him, I never would have gotten to experience any of this. I have relearned two things upon visiting Disney World this year: always believe in your dreams, and every dream begins with a wish.
