My Dream Come True
Walt Disney World Candlelight Processional and Massed Choir Program, December 2007
By Emily Hendrix - Junior, West Point High School, West Point, VirginiaI am a true dreamer. To me, dreams are very precious things that should not be diminished, but encouraged. They are a large part of who we are. And the vision of Walt Disney himself was to build a place where our dreams and reality combine. This being so, I found myself literally jumping with joy to be given the opportunity to visit the most magical place on earth, a place with the slogan, "Where Dreams Come True."
When I entered Walt Disney World, I felt as if everything was possible. There seemed to be no troubles in the world. Everything about Disney World was perfect: the people, the program, the rides, even the food.
Our school choir auditioned to participate in the Candlelight Processional and Massed Choir Program at Disney, and we were accepted! The processional was truly amazing. The experience of being in it increased my love for singing. I still remember the ringing of the high soprano notes in the Hallelujah Chorus and the gleam of the stage lights on our golden robes. Our director was amazingly talented and everything was perfectly organized. It was very professional, which added to the experience and took none of the fun away.
I still can't believe the creativeness and brilliance put into everything at Disney World, the attention to detail and the childlike imagination. I've had a dream for many years of becoming a Disney Imagineer, and now I'm definitely going to pursue that dream with all of my heart. I plan on keeping Disney World close to me, visiting often to keep my dreamlike state alive. It was an experience that was life-changing, making me a bigger dreamer, and a more confident person. Thank you for the opportunity!
